The Ultimate Pittsburgh Spring Cleanout Checklist

Spring cleanouts feel huge until you break them into zones. Here's how we'd attack a full-property reset on a typical Pittsburgh-area home in one weekend.

Day one — basement and garage. These are the highest-volume zones in older Mon Valley homes. Pull everything into the open, sort into keep / donate / dump piles, then load the dump pile straight into the dumpster. A 15 yard usually handles both spaces in one go.

Day two — yard and shed. Brush, old fencing, broken patio furniture, dead landscape timbers. Yard waste is heavy, so don't overfill — keep loads level with the rim.

Pro tip: load heavy items first along the back wall, then layer lighter bulky items on top. You'll fit more in and the truck will roll cleaner.

Need help picking a size or scheduling? We deliver same-day in most of the Mon Valley and Greater Pittsburgh area, including McKeesport, Monongahela, Clairton, Belle Vernon, and Bethel Park.
